Based on the children's book by former New York City Ballet prima ballerina Allegra Kent, Making Books Sing's fall show combines puppetry arts, dance and the music of Tchaikovsky to tell the story of Sophie, a Central Park swan whose dream is to star in—what else—Swan Lake. Three dancers and a five-foot dancing swan puppet make up the cast for this 50-minute performance, whose goal is to show little ones that if they pursue their dreams, not even wings, webs or feathers can stand in their way. Tickets go on sale in October. Ages 4 to 8.
