LIC Block Party

SculptureCenter gives back to the Queens community by hosting a shindig with the Purves Street Block Association. Jam out to performances by DJ Google Drive, Ross Moreno, the LIC YMCA Bollywood dancers, Faten Kanaan, Urbah Technology and HARIBO, while a slew of family-friendly activities throughout the day keep the kiddos busy, like carnival games, donut-making, third eye face painting, balloon twisting, thaumatrope-making with the Museum of the Moving Image, rock transformations wiht the Noguchi Museum, mixed-media sculpture with Materials for the Arts and makeovers in the HiChristina! tent. Area painters, sculptors and artisans will sell their wares at an artists market, while Long Island City food vendors, including Burger Garage, Sage, Soho Snacks and LIC Market and Manducatis Rustica, will peddle refreshments. All ages.
