Tweens and teens are invited to the Museum of Chinese in America to explore two new exhibits on view, Marvels and Monsters: Unmasking Asian Images in U.S. Comics, 1942–1986" and "Alt.Comics: Asian American Artists Reinvent the Comic Book." Participants will get to know the history of the portrayal of Asians in comic books and take place in a discussion on how these images have shaped our perceptions of good vs. evil qualities. Kids will also "unveil the superhero within" by creating a self-portrait of their alter ego. Participants must be accompanied by an adult companion. Ages 9 to 13.
