Jazz Age Lawn Party

Pack a picnic and swing into New York’s most sizzling throwback event of the season at Governors Island’s annual Prohibition-themed extravaganza. Top-notch musicians play toe-tapping jazz as dance instructors demonstrate the Lindy Hop and the Charleston. Vintage items—including flivvers and Tin Lizzies in the 1920s motorcar exhibit, plus gramophones—fit in seamlessly with the crowd (attendees dress for the occasion). Little ones can also get their kicks playing old- fashioned carnival games. It’s the bee’s knees. All ages.
