UPDATE: Governor Andrew Cuomo has extended New York on PAUSE until May 15. Mayor Bill de Blasio stated that children won't physically return to school this academic year, but the governor overruled his announcement. It's still unclear as to whether or not the children will return. 

UPDATE: On Tuesday, March 31, Governor Cuomo announced that New York State will cancel spring break

Sept 30–Oct 1: Rosh Hashanah SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED

Oct 9: Yom Kippur SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED 

Oct 14: Columbus Day SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED 

Nov 5: Election Day, students do not attend school 

Nov 6–7: Parent Teacher Conferences (middle schools, District 75 programs)

Nov 21–22: Parent Teacher Conferences (high schools, k–12 and 6–12 schools)

Nov 28–29: Thanksgiving Recess SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED 

Dec 23–Jan 1: Winter Recess SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED 

Jan 20: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED

Jan 27: January Clerical Day (high school and 6–12 school students do not attend, unless
enrolled in a District 75 program)

Feb 17–21: Midwinter Recess SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED

Mar 4–5: Parent Teacher Conferences (elementary schools and k–8 schools)

Mar 12–13: Parent Teacher Conferences (middle schools and District 75 programs)

CANCELLED: Apr 9–17: Spring Recess

May 7: Parent Teacher Conferences (elementary schools and k–8 schools)

May 25: Memorial Day SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED

Jun 4: CANCELLED Anniversary Day/Chancellor’s Conference Day for Staff Development, students do not attend school 

Jun 9: CANCELLED June Clerical Day for Lower Grades, elementary school, middle school and District 75 students do not attend 

Jun 26: Last Day of School
