Back in 2007, a collection of letters between Anne Frank’s father Otto Frank and his longtime friend Nathan Straus Jr was discovered at YIVO: Institute for Jewish Research in NY. The letters explain how Otto Frank tried to escape the terrors of wartime Holland in 1941, 15 months prior to when the family sought hiding in the historical attic of Prisengracht 263, Amsterdam. The letters have now been published in a book by author Joan Adler. Join her in a discussion about the historical significance of the Frank family and the tragic time period at this reading. Ages 12 and up.
