Time Out says

Head to the Queens Botanical Garden with the family for the Festival of Flowers, a traditional Colombian rite of summer, to see the Colombian artists hard at work on the elaborate floral silletas, enjoy music and dance performances, and jump in on crafts, storytime, face painting and old-fashioned games. The next day, follow the fest as it moves to Jackson Heights, where floats, floral displays, dancers, musicians, cultural delegations and elected officials salute summertime by making their way down 37th Street from 69th to 86th Street. Return to QBG afterward for more festivities. Ages 4 and up.
