Following a short closure for light refurbishing, Staten Island Museum will reopen to the public with a special free festival. After checking out the sparkly deep-cleaned facilities, kids can see NYPD and FDNY emergency vehicles and test their own fire-preparedness with a crawl-through smoke house. In addition to appearances from "Ready Girl" and police horses, Staten Island's CERT team is also on hand to demonstrate their equipment.
