Día de los Muertos: Day of the Dead Celebration!

Learn about the traditions of Día de los Muertos at this daylong celebration with the Brooklyn Children’s Museum. Kids can make their own muertos mask (1 to 2pm) inspired by BCM’s touchable collection of Mexican folk art, take part in a sing-along dance party with Sonia de los Santos of Dan Zanes (2 to 3pm) as she performs songs about her childhood in Mexico, and join in on a community ofrenda (3 to 4pm), during which young’uns create an altar to honor dead ancestors during the sweet and poignant holiday.
