Bundle up and celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year (which falls on February 19 this year) at this massive celebration in Chinatown, during which half a million firecrackers will be set off to welcome the Year of the Sheep. Families can join in on the pyrotechnics to ward away bad spirits for the year, plus revel in colorful traditions like lion dances and drumming. Follow the parade from Sarah D. Roosevelt Park as it winds through town (starting at noon), then make sure to browse nearby craft and food vendors with the kids in search of themed decorations and fresh dumplings. All ages.
