Time Out says

Led by a friendly staff of licensed psychologists, behavioral therapists and special education teachers, the Big Apple Day Program welcomes and nurtures kids with mild to moderate social difficulties, anxiety and learning disabilities. They get the true camp treatment, partaking in daily doses of swimming, arts and crafts, outdoor play and exciting field trips to the beach, zoo and more, all in a calming atmosphere that caters to each child’s needs. Throughout the session, campers work toward behavioral, academic and social goals via engaging learning practices that ready them for the classroom and even athletic teams for the coming school year. Campers perform a dancing skit for their families at the end of the season and are paired with mutual playdate buddies to keep in touch with once summer is over. Ages 5–12.
