Even though St. Patrick's Day officially takes place on March 17, Brooklyn-based broods can keep the fun going by rounding up the crew for the second largest St. Patty's Day parade in NYC later in the month. "Stepping off" at 1pm, the 22nd annual parade will start at the corner of Marine Ave and Third Ave, and will proceed down Third Ave before ending at 67th Street. Scope out a spot on the sidewalk with the kids around 12:30pm to take in the procession of decorative floats and marchers dressed in green. Keep an eye out for the "Irish Family of the Year" float that'll carry winners of an essay contest that invites writers to describe their Irish heritage and family history. All ages.
