Kicking off the Governors Island season on Memorial Day weekend (Saturday and Sunday, that is) is this food fest featuring the likes of a grilled-cheese cook-off, live blues bands and a taco challenge from Slow Food NYC. Rounding out the noshing fun are more than 20 food stations, including Jimmy's No. 43 and Van Leuwen ice cream, that will offering tastings through 2pm. Sure to please the grownups: A wide selection of Sixpoint Craft Ales will be poured throughout the event. Note: The ticket price includes one beer ticket and food sampling from 11:30am to 2:30pm. Additional beer and food tickets are available for purchase. All ages.
