Time Out says

Each summer, more than 40 Native American nations converge at the Queens County Farm Museum for an intertribal dance competition. Hosted by the Thunderbird American Indian Dancers, this massive event is New York City’s largest and longest-running annual powwow. When kids aren’t marveling at the elaborate traditional dress, booming drums and dynamic performances, they can snack on Native American foods and grab a souvenir from one of the many art, craft and jewelry vendors. Seating is limited, so bring your own chairs or blankets, and be sure to stick around until sunset for the bonfires on Friday and Saturday (weather permitting). All ages.
