Rockaway Kids Carnival

Move over Red Cross—now it's Winkel & Balktick to the rescue! The quirky event-planning duo realized that the Rockaways residents have received necessities like food, water and clothing, but happiness and laughter are still in short supply. Their inaugural grassroots festival—complete with stiltwalkers, hula hoopers, face painters, costume giveaways and gratis toys—aims to provide a little comic relief and help local kids feel like kids again. Carnival takes place at Beach 99th Street and Shorefront Avenue. All ages.
