Families can explore the eccentricity of childhood and the angst of adolescence during a night of six one-act plays, depicting the many ups and downs of being a kid. Over the course of this three-day festival, the nine finalists of Piper Theatre Productions’ national playwrighting competition will present their original short plays about topics such as religion, terminal illness, video games and even breakfast cereal. The lineup varies each night of the festival, allowing each of the nine plays—from the comedy “The Queen of Cocoa Puffs and the Captain Crunch King” to the dark drama “Dancing Turtle”—to be presented twice. Ages 8 and up.
