Time Out says

The Orpheum Circuit was founded in the 1880s and was the most famous vaudeville touring circuit through the1920s. With 347 seats, this East Village landmark was a stop on the tour back in the day but has long since traded trash cans and brooms. As of 1994, the theatre has been the home of Stomp, the smash-hit (pun intended) musical sensation.
