When the pizza cravings hit, this West Village haunt offers diners pies topped with any of 14 different choices, including sliced meatballs, ricotta cheese and extra mozzarella ($4 each, $2 for half). To this day, pies are baked in the same coal-fired brick oven that was used when Italian founder John Sasso established the business in 1929 and the results have made this pizzeria a staple in the neighborhood.
