The Victorian Halloween Magic-Lantern Show

Experience a form of entertainment popular at the turn of the 19th century called the magic lantern, a precursor to modern films in which huge projectors rapidly screen hand-colored slides while a live showman, a musician and members of the audience provide the soundtrack. At today's event such a show is re-created with a Halloween twist: Lighting up the screen are macabre images including Poe's famous raven, a crystal ball that predicts the future and more. Ages 6 and up.
