We might have ushered in the first day of Spring, but Mother Nature isn't quite ready to let us revel in sunshine just yet.
We're due for another storm, and kiddos will be pleased to know that Mayor de Blasio's office announced that NYC public schools are officially closed on Mar 21. Yes, it's the season of flowers and warm weather, but in case our impending blast of winter is truly what meteorologists claim it'll be, school is shutting down.
The Mayor's office spread the good news all youngsters love to hear via Twitter. Guess one last snow day before we swap the Northface coats for denim jackets is in order, right? The colorful imagery almost had us fooled that we're still in January rather than March. Are we expecting Christmas or Easter?
Since the kiddos are going to be stuck at home (and you're totally not a jealous parent or anything—don't be ridiculous), it might be a good time to let the little ones watch the last of the March movies and shows on Netflix, read a good book or plan exactly what it is they'd like to do once spring actually arrives.
Let's cross our fingers that the snow isn't too terrible and that the snow day is more of a hooky day granted by the NYC mayor. And, for everyone's sake, let's say a prayer that we'll be treated to real spring weather sometime in the foreseeable future.
So how should your kids spend their day off? Check out these fun indoor activities for kids, re-watch some of the best Disney Channel movies or start watching one of these new Disney movies.
