The moment we've all been waiting for is finally here: Toys “R” Us is scheduled to open on Saturday, Nov 30 at Westfield Garden State Plaza in New Jersey. Are your kids' holiday wishlists ready? (That was a silly question—of course they are.)
News broke earlier this year that the brand would reemerge after filing for bankruptcy and closing over 800 locations nationwide. Now, thanks to Tru Kids Brands—and a little e-commerce help from Target—one of our favorite New York toy store locales will make a comeback, starting with its Jersey brick and mortar. Clear those calendars, Mom and Dad: We've got some shopping to do!

For those patrons who cannot possibly wait until the weekend, the store's soft opening is Wednesday, Nov 27. However, Saturday will be complete with giveaways, character appearances and more exciting activities, so perhaps it's worth holding off? (Or making multiple visits.)
Expect the store you know and love, but with slight changes. Toys “R” Us will partner with b8ta, a software-powered experiential retailer, to reimagine its offerings, including interactive activities, play areas, STEAM-focused experiences and, of course, time to hang out with Geoffrey. Even better news? The brand plans to expand and reestablish Toys "R” Us locations in high-traffic areas in 2020!
Before embarking on those awesome Christmas events for kids and winter activities for kids, get that holiday shopping out of the way! We have a feeling this new store will be a perfect place to do so.
