The holidays in New York City are going to look a little different this year.
Unfortunately, MSG Entertainment just revealed that the 2020 Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes has been canceled. We're certainly going to miss the high kicks and all of the production's glitz and glam.
"We are disappointed for everyone involved with the show, as well as for the many fans who make the Christmas Spectacular a cherished part of their holiday tradition," the statement read.
If you planned ahead and already purchased your 2020 tickets, MSG Entertainment assured that you'll be refunded. But there is some good news: Tickets for the 2021 production are currently on sale. We might have to wait a little longer, but the Rockettes aren't going to let us down.
Although upsetting, this isn't unexpected: Broadway has gone dark for the remainder of the year, as well Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. New York City is certainly different without the arts, and we're definitely anxious for our favorite performances to start up again. In the meantime, check out how to access your favorite family attractions and kids' museums right from home.
Stay strong, New Yorkers: We'll get through this.
