The fate of summer 2020 remains uncertain.
Public pools won't open, beaches might be closed and we're still not entirely sure how NYC schools will finish the remainder of the academic year. There are plenty of questions left unanswered.
But one thing's clear: Virtual offerings have swooped in to keep boredom at bay during this unprecedented time. And looking ahead, the digital fun plans to continue. Summer Camp Online is a website dedicated to live virtual kids' courses in a variety of areas—writing, acting, crafting, cooking, etc., and children have the option to enroll in fun offerings from all over the country either now or several months into the future, when the actual camp season is supposed get underway.
Courses hover around the $100 mark and each link provides descriptions, age ranges and schedules for the programs. It is even possible for a group of kiddos to take private virtual classes with their pals. (Parents are asked to email info@summercamponline.com for information.)
The summer camp experience might look a little different in 2020—time will tell—but kids can still pick up new skills and make memories in the process.
