Still waiting to score those seats to Hamilton? If your chances of winning the ticket lottery are starting to look grim, you're going to have to get creative...well, your kids are at any rate.
This summer, rather than opt for a sleep-away camp, let your children channel their love for the stage with Ham-sical, a NYC-based summer program that uses everyone's favorite Broadway hit as its inspiration. This theater experience promises to be unlike any other! Not only will the program provide your kiddos with a unique summer in the heart of Times Square, it'll put a fun spin on history—a subject they might deem a snooze-fest in school.
Broadway Bound Kids will offer its Ham-sical program from July 30–Aug 4 and split children up according to age groups (Kindergarten–third grade and fourth–sixth grade). For $549, your little ones will create a musical centered around one famous historical figure, much like the beloved original. Move over, Lin Manuel Miranda—it looks like you're going to have a bit of competition.
In between scriptwriting, planning choreography and assisting with costume and set design, students will also attend a masterclass with a Broadway cast member (can adults join, too?). What makes Ham-sical all the more worthwhile is seeing your children's creation come to life at the end of the program. This year, Ham-sical—next, the TONY awards.

Please Note: This is a Broadway Bound Kids program and is not affiliated with Hamilton: An American Musical.
