The Season of Lights is certainly living up to its title.
Festive displays at the Bronx Zoo and Randall's Island will illuminate New York City later this year. Plus, Gotham's neighbors will be indulging in similar celebrations. Get out of the city for a few hours with a day trip to Long Island for the Magic of Lights drive-through experience.
From Nov 13, 2020–Jan 2, 2021, the 2.5-mile show will bring breathtaking scenes to Jones Beach State Park thanks to LED technology and digital animations. This includes the Blizzard Tunnel, 240 feet of LED Christmas trees and displays based on themes like "The Night Before Christmas" and "Winter Wonderland."
Plus, the extra sweet part of this year's socially-distanced happening is that it plans to give back. Charity nights will be announced in the coming days. Last year, over $150,000 had been donated to those in need.
Make like Santa's elves and hop to it: Tickets are on sale for an early-bird price of $20 (think of it as an early Christmas gift). Then, advanced tickets will increase to $25; admission at the gate is $30 during the week and $35 on weekends. Make a playlist of your favorite Christmas songs, fill a few thermoses with hot chocolate and enjoy!
