Planning to spend your spring and summer enjoying Coney Island? Luna Park just made our day with a major announcement. On Luna Park's opening day, access to all of the park's rides will only run you a small donation ($5; you'll receive a wristband) to the park's partner charity, The Mayor's Fund to Advance NYC. The charity supports business and philanthropic communities and helps the city launch amazing public programming.

This year, Luna Park will donate 90 percent of the proceeds from the event to the Mayor's Fund, which will directly support Girl Scout Troop 6000 (a troop that launched in 2016 to serve girls living in the NYC shelter system).

Luna Park's 2018 opening day is Sat March 24, and the park opens at 11am.

On Sun March 25 at 11:30am, there's additional fun to be had. Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, local stakeholders and elected officials will gather round The Cyclone to officially kick off the season with the park's traditional egg cream christening, and Brooklyn Seltzer Boys will provide an egg cream sample to the first 150 guests.
