Hold onto your hardhats, young builders. LEGO is taking the fun to new heights.
Though New York is home to the brand's epic stores and discovery centers, our favorite building blocks will up the ante with a massive theme park upstate in Goshen, which is slated for a 2020 opening. The wheels are in motion, and the project is currently underway. However, we don't need to see any blueprints to know that LEGOLAND is bound to be mind-blowing.
"A LEGOLAND park is on a different scale altogether," the attraction's public relations manager, Matt Besterman, said in a statement. "This 150-acre theme park is a multi-day experience with more than 50 rides, shows and attractions—all designed for kids ages 2–12 and their families."
Where do we sign up?!
When stepping onto the grounds, visitors will have the option to head to eight themed sections of the park, including Pirate Shores, the perfect place for little buccaneers, LEGO Ninja World, where they'll duke it out against the Great Devourer and Bricktopia, where kiddies can let their imaginations and creativity run wild. It's going to be a busy family outing for sure.
Roughly two hours from NYC, this day trip can easily turn into an over-night experience with a stay at the up-and-coming hotel. "You'll find a restaurant with a kid-sized buffet table, a Castle play area and children's entertainment every night," Besterman added. "It's our way of extending the LEGOLAND experience."
