Feeling the heat? The new splash pad at Jones Beach is a great way for kids to cool off on a hot summer day. Even better? This welcomed new amenity is free for all visitors, so pack a few extra towels.

On those 90-degree days when the sun shows no mercy, youngsters (and even their parents) can head to the new facility that features water coming from all angles—pipes from above and water bursts from the ground, according to Patch

Once your crew dries off after a few laps around the splash pad, don't head back home just yet. Cure the munchies with a trip to the newly opened Jones Beach Boardwalk Café. The 7,700-square-foot venue was a $20 million project that now offers a food hall vibe and gives visitors a chance to enjoy a meal without sand between their sandwiches.

Both venues are located on the Central Mall. Don't forget your sunscreen—you're bound to have a very busy beach day.
