If you find yourself in Chelsea with a wired kid, head to Eyebeam. The art-meets-technology hub has just completed a much-anticipated renovation: In addition to expanding its education space, the nonprofit has created a glass-walled workshop that lets visitors view artists at work, and Eyebeam Commons, a public space where tech-heads can chill out. Pick up a DIY transmitter or "Ghost Box" kit ($25—$50) from the new bookstore and help your kid put it together on site—Eyebeam provides the soldering iron on Fridays.
