Celebrate the shortest day of the year at the Museum of Math at a free annual event. Inspired by the Fibonacci series (a mathematical sequence in which any number in the sequence is the sum of the two numbers before it, like 2,3,5,8,13...) and the ways Fibonacci numbers appears frequently in nature (pine cones, flowers, and the leaf arrangements in plants), the museum invites visitors to use geometric shapes to create their large sculptures based on the series. The festivities include complimentary hot beverages, small plates and the chance to spin the Flatiron prize wheel.
