Qingming Festival, or Ancestor’s Day, is a traditional Chinese event to celebrate spring and the remembrance of loved ones. Grab the kids and head over to the DiMenna Children’s History Museum to honor the Chinese tradition of kite making by decorating kites. Draw inspiration from a reading of Henry and the Kite Dragon by Bruce Edward Hall, a story of a master kite maker in Chinatown who must save the day when pigeons interfere with kite flying. Ages 4–7.
