Paint Through the City

New York City is known for being the home of some of the greatest museums in the world, but city dwellers know that you don't have to travel to a storied institution to see amazing art — all you have to do is go outside. MCNY's sprawling exhibition Art in the Open: Fifty Years of Public Art in New York celebrates the street art and public art projects of communities across the five boroughs. After you family checks it out, take your kids to this free workshop so they can design and paint a sketch of a public art piece of their own. Ages 6–12.
