Forty Part Motet, considered to be Janet Cardiff's masterwork, is a sound instillation made up of 40 high-fidelity speakers configured in an oval position in The Cloisters' Fuentiduena Chapel. The speakers will broadcast a spoken prologue followed by an 11-minute reworking of a composition by Thomas Tallis, Spem in alium (No Other Is My Hope). Visitors will be invited to walk through the chapel as the work plays, making it an entirely immersive experience. All ages.
