If you have a tween on your hands that likes to dodge your messages while out and about, this new app is going to make it more difficult for them to tune you out. ReplyASAP is a mobile app that parents can download and add to their child’s phone. It rings an incessant alarm once a message or call from certain numbers come in. The fun detail for parents is that the alarm will not turn off until the unfortunate soul finally responds.

The app was created by Nick Herbert, a Dad fed up with sending messages into the void. Similar to many parents' experiences, his son wouldn’t answer his texts. ReplyASAP makes it so that once the message is received, the app takes over the phone and rings an alarm even when the phone is on silent or in the middle of another activity. It also sends a note to the parent once their child has read the text even if they still refuse to message or call back. Now there won’t be any excuses that the message was somehow "lost in transit."

A word of warning though: Parents might enjoy this new way to reach their kids while they’re out of the house, but don’t expect too much of a happy camper on the other end of the line. The blaring alarm might not go over well if they're socializing with friends or worse, at the movies.

ReplyASAP is currently only available for Android phones with an expansion to iOS still in the works. It’s free to connect to the first user and extra fees apply if you’d like to add more users to the bundle.
