When FAO Schwarz closed in 2015 (and Toys"R"Us' Times Square flagship, too), it felt like the end of an era for large toy stores and the way we shop for holiday gifts in NYC. We're extremely happy to report that FAO Schwarz is giving us some hope in 2017: It's coming back in the form of a whimsical, festive FAO Schwarz experience, a "shop-in-shop," which will open in Bergdorf Goodman (754 5th Ave at 58th St) and remain open through Dec 31! We can't wait to check it out—after all, what's more fun than hunting for gifts around the holidays?

In the store (open now), you'll see highlights from the brand's legacy, including exclusive toys and one-of-a-kind gifts. You'll also get to check out FAO Schwarz' holiday collection, which will be available starting Wednesday, October 25 at major retailers and department stores, plus FAOSchwarz.com.

Here are a few items we can't wait to get our hands on:

Piano Dance Mat, $100

Wood Canvas Play Teepee, $100

75-Piece Motorized Train Set, $150

Kids' Roller Coaster Building Set, $50

Katie Holmes helped unveil the pop-up at the kick-off party held on October 24. Gotta love that iconic piano...
