In December, the Brooklyn Museum’s monthly free shindig is celebrating GO, an open-studio art project that brings together members of the Brooklyn art community to encourage collaborative creation. A lineup of Brooklyn-centric musical performances, documentary screenings, and speakers are scheduled throughout the night, but kids will want to stick with the hands-on art station, where they can design their own museum gallery displaying work by Brooklyn artists (from 6:30-8:30pm). Families should also check out the interactive space (from 6-10pm), in which participatory artist Ben McKelahan will lead visitors throughout the museum, then to the Beaux-Arts Court for a collaborative piece featuring live painting animations and dance performances. Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the night. All ages.
