NYC public school kids' midwinter break, which this year runs from Saturday, February 15, through Sunday, February 23, always seems to sneak up on us. One of our favorite things to do with all that free time is to visit NYC museum programs designed especially for children. Our city's cultural institutions go to great lengths to offer workshops and other drop-in programs for kids, and this year is no exception. School-age kids can delve into every kind of engineering imaginable with the New York Hall of Science's Enginnering Week; take in the work of Art Spiegelman and create 3-D comics at the Jewish Museum; meet astronauts, Broadway performers and star athletes at Intrepid Kids Week; and design and build bridges and more at the Brooklyn Children's Museum's Engineers Week. Scroll through our list of NYC museum programs and get inspired to inspire your kids over the winter break.
