Head to either the Queens Zoo or the Prospect Park Zoo for Lunar New Year programming. Celebrate the year of the monkey through a scavenger hunt in which kids will receive a hunt map as they search for answers about zoo animals that may be represented in the Lunar zodiac. Engage in a New Year craft, work on your calligraphy skills, check out a puppet show performance by the Chinese Theatre Works and watch the adorable sea lions at their daily feedings. On Feb 20 and 21 at the Queens Zoo, kids nosh on tea and cookies in the zoo’s Wild Room and at the Prospect Park Zoo on Feb 27 and 28, kids make enrichment items that zookeepers will present to the zoo’s monkeys.
