Time Out says
Built by railroad magnate Collis P. Huntington, the Huntington Free Library dates back to 1892 and is one of the few private libraries in the city. Its reading room is open to the public (though you need to make a reservation first), and the library itself houses many exhibitions relating to local artists and history.
