Pratt Institute instructors lead kids in a hands-on exploration of Iceland in this workshop offered in conjunction with the exhibit "Saga-Sites: Landscapes of the Icelandic Sagas." Each Saturday participants will "journey" to the faraway country through the exhibit's stories, watercolors and photographs, and make a visual record of their travels in sculptures, paintings and drawings. The series kicks off with a free workshop on September 29, with an exhibit tour by featured Icelandic artist Einar Falur Ingolfsson. As kids explore the gallery, they'll sketch and make notes on the volcanoes they spot; upon returning to the studio, they will build 3D models of the geographic wonders and put them together into a volcanic mountain range. Registration is strongly encouraged. Ages 6 to 10.
