Put Her on a Pedestal

There are 23 statues of historical figures in Central Park—and not a single one of them is a woman. That will change on August 26, when a statue of New Yorkers Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony and Sojourner Truth will be unveiled. Kids can mark the celebration with Put Her on a Pedestal, an at-home art project that honors abolitionists, suffragists, and women’s rights pioneers. Artwork submitted to info@monumentalwomen.org will be selected to be included in the August ceremony—your little one's drawing could go on display in Central Park! All ages.
