Got plans for this weekend in New Orleans? We can count on great weather this time of year, so be sure to check out all the festivals around town. For a visual feast, there’s plenty of art on view in museums and scattered around the city. The holidays are almost here, so you can start prepping at one of the arts markets featuring local vendors. And of course, you can guarantee that every weekend you can catch some live, local music (and big-name bands too) or a cool citywide festival. Here are all the great things you can do on the weekends this month in New Orleans.

The citywide contemporary art triennial is back to showcase artists from all over the world. Prospect.6 will explore climate change, colonialism and belonging. Participating artists will exhibit around the city in diverse venues like museums, parks, theaters and universities. Expect thought-provoking murals, installations, performances and community programs.

The high-end antiques gallery hosts an exhibition celebrating Marc Chagall. The exhibition features his art alongside colorful works of his contemporaries, such as Henri Matisse, Kees van Dongen, Louis Valtat, and more. It’s a chance to see Chagall in a different environment, and you can stick around and explore the gallery’s incredible collection of antiques when you’re done.

In her weekly show at The Jazz Playhouse, Trixie Minx puts a modern spin on a classic 1960's Bourbon Street Burlesque Show. She’s joined by a rotating cast of soloists all performing classic strip tease to live music in a classy setting that hearkens back to the prime days of jazz and burlesque on Bourbon.

It’s a full weekend dedicated to local favorite Lil’ Wayne, from a Friday showcase at the Fillmore to a Thank You brunch on Sunday at the House of Blues. The main event on Saturday is headlined by Weezy himself as well as a Hot Boys reunion featuring Juvenile, BG, Turk, Rob 49 and a special DJ Set by Mannie Fresh, plus surprise special guests.

This is your chance to try as many different versions of gumbo all in one spot. Whether it’s traditional seafood, chicken and andouille or a modern take with a twist, these gumbos range from classic and comforting to totally surprising. There are even vegan versions that have won praise. Aside from the gumbo, there will be crafts and of course a lineup of some of the best brass bands in the city.

The Gulf South’s largest comedy festival is back for another round of laughs. Catch hilarious, locally-based improv, sketch and standup comedians at venues around the city including multiple shows at Howlin’ Wolf, the Open Mic from Hell at Republic and the highlight Huge Ass Comedy Show at the Joy Theater.

This annual festival of light, art and technology will transform the area between Gallier Hall and Piazza d’Italia into a playground of light. Artworks will explore the themes of Melody and Mythology with LED lights, lasers and projected artworks, including a mapping projection on the facade of Gallier Hall.

Tim Burton’s beloved film has been turned into a musical, and it’s coming to the Saenger. The rollicking show is packed with hilarity, and you’ll be on the edge of your seat—whether dancing or shrieking—as teenage Lydia figures out what to do about the deceased couple and a demon who are now a part of her life.

The city’s favorite sweet treat is celebrated at this annual fest. Expect more than just the classic powdered sugar-topped beignet—vendors will be selling everything from sweet versions stuffed with chocolate or mochi to savory options with crawfish etouffee, spinach and artichoke and more. This year’s music lineup includes Imagination Movers, Amanda Shaw and the Cute Guys and Big Sam’s Funky Nation.

The Soul Rebels are on a roll, touring the country and still holding down their regular Thursday night gig at Le Bon Temps. Catch them at Tipitina’s when they reunite with past members of the band for a full-on throwdown.

It’s one of the biggest matchups of the year. The historic rivalry between Southern and Grambling is held at the Dome on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Much more than a football game, however, the event brings parties, parades and a must-see Battle of the Bands on the Friday before.

City Park’s annual holiday celebration is an enchanting spectacle of lights. The park’s majestic oak trees are decked out with more than a million lights, and light sculptures are scattered throughout the park. Tour by bike, on foot, or in your car, and stop in the Botanical Gardens for more holiday cheer.
