This sibling to the famed Joe Beef restaurant from chefs David McMillan and Fred Morin is a neighbourhood institution known for its bombastic dishes, its oyster bar, and its superbly curated wine lists. Often looked to for last-minute reservations by tourists who couldn't squeeze into Joe Beef's perpetually packed tables, the original restaurant's namesake dishes are just as available here as newer culinary ventures in different directions. Without a doubt, Liverpool House has its own unique character and flair as well, and is just as good a spot for quick drop-ins as it is for drawn-out evenings.
