It’s the perfect August getaway.

Just 40 minutes from Montreal, the stunning sunflower fields at La Belle de Coteau-du-Lac is the ultimate, quick road trip for a photo opp, stroll, or hang with friends and family — and our favourite secret spot for end-of-summer picnics.

With all the things to do in August, we want to make the most of the sunshine, whether it’s heading down to the Old Port to play pétanque, taking in a free giant puppet show and sidewalk sale on the world's coolest street or grabbing a racket to play a game of pickleball in one of our beautiful parks.

This must-visit spot, located 10 minutes from Vaudreuil, is home to more than 60 varieties of sunflowers in one sprawling self-picking area.

Create epic, colourful bouquets surrounded by enchanting fields of black and gold. La Belle de Coteau-du-Lac provides all the necessary tools, including shears and facilities available for filling your vases with water.

Late-day visits to this picturesque spot means fiery sunsets over the fields, or staying for a bonfire (s'mores kits are available for purchase at the restaurant).

Looking for more family-friendly fun? There’s a mini-playground and corn maze for the kids.

Bonus: La Belle de Coteau-du-Lac also offers self-pick strawberry fields, so you can head home with some fresh berries in addition to your freshly cut flowers.
