Is the aircraft of the future here already?

Air Canada has announced that the airline has placed an order for 30 ES-30 Electric Regional Aircraft from Heart Aerospace of Sweden.

What makes the ES-30 Electric Regional Aircraft unique?

The aircraft—powered by lithium-ion batteries—will be quieter, have optimized operational parameters and a smaller environmental footprint than the traditional turbo-prop aircraft.

The innovative aircraft, expected to roll out in 2028, will generate zero emissions flying on battery power and generate significant operational savings and benefits.

The ES-30 Electric Regional Aircraft can also use sustainable aviation fuel thanks to its reserve-hybrid generators.

The aircraft will serve Air Canada’s regional and commuter routes more sustainably, providing low-emission connectivity to local communities over the medium-to-long term, according to a press release.

How many seats are on the ES-30 Electric Regional Aircraft?

The ES-30 Electric Regional Aircraft will have a capacity for up to 30 passengers seated three across, and is equipped with a galley and lavatory.
