Just when you thought Montreal couldn't get any hotter.

When the city heats up, it’s time to eat outdoors

Whether you’re heading to your favourite park with a picnic, an urban beach or a restaurant terrasse high above the city, we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to finding the perfect outdoor spot to eat in Montreal.

OpenTable scanned diner metrics and over 1.1 million reviews and narrowed down the restaurants where Canadians love dining outdoors.

In Montreal, two restaurants with terrasses made the list along with a third spot in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Bistro Nolah, a short drive from downtown Montreal.

Where are the best terrasses in Montreal?

In Montreal, recently ranked one of the top 20 cities for food in the world, Terrasse William Gray and Chez Levesque made the top 100 list.

1. Terrasse William Gray

The elegant Hotel William Gray in Old Montreal is home to two notable terrasses.

The Terrasse William Gray, on the 8th floor—with sweeping views of Old Montreal and Montreal’s ferris wheel—serves brunch, lunch and dinner with a focus on summer wines, cocktails and local beers.

During the winter, you can dine on the rooftop in a magical heated dome (think sparkly lights, candles, faux-fur throws and a decadent, locally-focused menu).

On the 4th floor, Perché offers an intimate lounge with a California-forward menu and an unparalleled view of Place Jacques Cartier.

2. Chez Levesque

The red awnings on Chez Levesque’s terrasse just screams French brasserie in the best way possible.

Open from the end of April to the end of October, the terrasse is covered and heated for those late, cooler evenings.

Tuck into charcuterie, tartares, oysters, lobster and more seafood while watching the world go by on Laurier Avenue.
