Time Out Market Montréal is helping spread the love this month.
Whether you’re a lover of impossibly moist cakes, cocktails crafted by an expert mixologist or a romantic menu for two created by a chef who has worked in some of the most famous restaurants in the country, the Market has got you covered.
Discover the Olove Cakes pop-up
From February 10 to 18, Montreal-based company Olove Cakes, will be selling customized cakes—think: the most delicious handmade, olive oil-based confections in town—in three different flavous (original, chocolate and chia-lemon) and four sizes.
Is there a better way to say I love you than through a delicious and moist olive oil cake topped with your personalized message?
Look for the pop-up at the Market’s Milk Bar. Bonus: Olove is also selling Valentines day cards, roses, hand painted tapered candles and macaroons.
Sip on a signature cocktail
Order a Tempo Di Amore (“The Moment of Love”), an intoxicating cocktail (think: Mariana Avril amaretto, Rosemont Spiced run, Italian cherry yogurt and dark chocolate) inspired by how similar the words "amaro" and "amore" sound—and the origin story of a liqueur based on love.
As the story goes, Bernardino Luini, a painter and disciple of Leonardo da Vinci, was tasked with embellishing the Sanctuary of Saronno dedicated to the Virgin of Miracles around 1525. Luini allegedly chose a beautiful innkeeper from the area as a model who promptly fell in love with him. To express her love, she offered him a homemade liqueur made with a family recipe that is now known as amaretto.
Put romance on the menu
Mussels and perfectly crisp fries, or a giant guedille for two? Hamachi with radish salsa, jalapenos, shallots and shoyu dashi sauce? Or a basque cheesecake that will blow your mind?
Time Out Market Montréal, home to some of the city’s best chefs and restaurants under one roof, is serving up dishes that are guaranteed to make you swoon.
