There’s no better way to kick off the new year than enjoying some of the city’s best sushi in a stunning castle setting.

One of the best new sushi spots we discovered this summer, Château Maneki—a delicious sushi kitchen tucked inside an iconic pastel-coloured castle with an outdoor terrasse—now has an indoor dining room, speakeasy and a brand new menu.

Whether you're looking for a romantic date night, or a family-friendly dinner, add this magical pink castle to your list.

Time Out Tip: With only 20 seats (14 seats plus 6 at the bar) in the intimate dining room, reservations are required.

What is the best type of sushi at Château Maneki?

Serving up oshizushi (pressed, flambéed sushi) that tastes as good as it looks, our favourites are the Maneki classic (salmon, japanese spicy mayo, jalapeno, orange tobiko and sesame) and the Chili crunch ebi (shrimp, crispy garlic and chili oil, sesame oil and lime zest).

What’s new on the menu at Château Maneki?

The menu includes the Maneki Dog (a playful take on a hot dog with a sushi twist) featuring a fried seaweed shell filled with rice, tartare, and our signature sauce.

Dig in to some new appetizers, like cherry tomatoes marinated in dashi sauce; lightly marinated cucumber slices; Japanese cabbage salad and a dashi miso soup.

Don't forget to try the matcha tiramisu for dessert.

When it comes to the playful cocktails and mocktails, get ready for a unique cocktail list, including the Wabi Sabi (gin, sake, mandarin, yuzu, pineapple, and a hint of wasabi); the Serpent’s Kiss (rum, lime, coconut, and Thai pepper); the Blanche Neige (a creamy mix of bergamot, yuzu, lime, matcha, and egg white) and the Pixie Dust (gin, crème de violette, elderflower, and yuzu).
