Along with ice cream and our favourite pools and parks, summer means trips to the beach and the bluer the water the better.

This secret beach, boasting turquoise water, limestone rocks, fine golden sand and massive boulders that channel the Caribbean, is just a day trip from Montreal—and has a few underwater secrets.

From Clock Tower beach nestled in Old Montreal to sandy spots just outside of town, Montreal's local beaches (on and off the island) are where you'll find us once the temperature starts to rise.

But if you’re looking for an epic road trip, this spot is for you.

Whether you’re looking for hiking, water sports or a beach bum vibe, Bruce Peninsula National Park in Tobermory, Ontario, should be on your bucket list.

Tobermory, known as the scuba diving hub of the Great Lakes thanks to the Fathom Five National Marine Park (home to around twenty-four sunken ships) is also a destination for outdoor enthusiasts (hikers can explore the renowned 700 km Bruce Trail).

An 8-hour drive from Montreal, Tobermory, Ontario—also known as the "Shipwreck Capital of Canada”—boasts over 20 shipwrecks, some dating back to the mid-1800s, according to Parks Canada.

From the novice snorkeller to the most advanced diving enthusiast, everyone can find something to explore and enjoy underwater here.

Time Out Tip: In July, August, and on holiday weekends, it can get very busy so try and book your travel during off-peak times (or arrive early!).
