The largest gathering of Shibas and Akitas in Canada is coming to Montreal

As part of Japan Week 2025, the 6th edition of this gigantic gathering of Shiba and Akita dogs will also include a kimono parade.

Calling all dog lovers, there’s another gigantic dog party coming to town.

Do you love Shibas, Akitas, and beautiful kimonos?

As part of Japan week, the 6th edition of the largest Shiba and Akita gathering in Canada, with over 200 dogs participating, is coming to Montreal.

Bonus: a kimono and yukata gathering will take place at the same time.

The unique event, presented by the SDC Côte-des-neiges, provides a unique opportunity for Shiba and Akita pawrents to meet, share, and celebrate—and for fans of the distinctive dog breeds to experience the euphoric feeling that comes from seeing so many of their favourite dogs gathered in one place.

What is Japan Week?

Japan Week is a celebration of Japan across participating Montreal businesses, highlighting the best of what the city has to offer related to Japan: restaurants, shops, cultural events, and associations come together to create a unique discovery experience of flavours and traditions for all enthusiasts.
